If you need troubleshooting assistance with a brewer or making a beverage, please press one. For all other inquiries, please press two. To repeat these options, please press eight."
When you call Keurig's customer service phone number with a customer problem, you're greeted by an automated message system. The system immediately prompts the caller to visit Keurig's website to access the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), view self-help and maintenance videos, or browse their selection of over four hundred varieties of beverages.
The system informs the caller this call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, then presents the following menu: for troubleshooting assistance with a brewer or making a beverage, press two; for all other inquiries, press eight; to repeat the options, press eight. If you do not make a selection, the menu will automatically repeat.
With other messaging systems I've encountered, a phone menu will typically automatically repeat for two or three cycles, then either connect the caller to a representative or terminate the call. With Keurig's customer service line, the phone menu seems to repeat indefinitely.
Caller accessibility would be increased if there were an option to immediately speak to a representative and callers were routed after a selection is not made. I understand these phone menus exist to triage and siphon customer concerns to the most relevant information and/or available assistance; however, navigating these automated phone systems isn't always the easiest or most straightforward process, particularly for the elderly and those with certain disabilities.
That said, I was calling regarding troubleshooting, so I selected the first option. An automated message said to press one if calling regarding Keurig's connected SMART brewer, and for all other models to stay on the line for the next available agent. I stayed on the line and was connected with a representative shortly. Thankfully, reaching a human being wasn't too much of a process!
The rep was very patient and helpful and told me about some online resources on their website I didn't previously know about should I need further assistance, although she reminded me I was welcome to call again if needed. Overall, this was a positive customer service experience.
