If you have an Ally Bank Interest Checking account, you should think about setting up recurring automatic payments. You can use this service to have Ally Bank pay your bills for you, so you never have to worry about a late payment again. Online recurring bill payments are convenient and time saving. For most payees, the bank will transfer the money by electronic transfer. If your payee does not permit electronic payments then Ally Bank will mail the payment in the form of a check. This article will teach you how to set up recurring bill payments.

How to Make Recurring Automatic Bill Payments

To get automatic recurring bill payments started, just follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Ally Bank site.
  2. Log into your Ally Bank Interest Checking account.
  3. Go to Bill Pay.
  4. Navigate to the list of payee accounts you have linked to your Interest Checking account.
  5. Find your payee account if you have already linked accounts. If you haven't done that yet, add the payee's payment information in the text fields provided.
  6. Click the Recurring Payments link next to your payee.
  7. Select a date for the first payment.
  8. Choose a frequency for the payments.
  9. Enter the amount of the payment.
  10. Choose a payment method, such as paying only the minimum amount due or the full amount. Please note that not all payees will allow you to choose an amount.
  11. Select a length of time to keep making the payments.

Ally Bank advises that you shouldn't use automatic bill payments to pay taxes or to make any kind of court-ordered payment.
