The issue in GetHuman-mooredru's own words
I dealt with this bank re: my Catherine's credit card yesterday through the phone number on Catherine's website and all went well and the issue was resolved. Then I received * calls from a different phone number: ***-***-****, which identified this bank. The second left a phone number and a message to call them back asap. That phone * was not the number from which the calls came. it was ***-***-****. I did call back, not realizing the discrepancy and after working through the step by step recording normal to any bank, was connected with a person with a very heavy accent (to the point I had to frequently repeat what he said, both because I could not understand what he was saying and because there was so much background noise. He asked me for all the identifying information I gave the bank yesterday and then said the account was in good standing and hung up. I wasn't concerned until after the call when I noticed the many different numbers I have contacted in this call issue. It worries me that I gave telephone *, full name and full address to this person. Was this a scam call somehow taken from the original call? It felt like so much more than would normally be needed to identify a caller, and I was on the same cell phone calling from the same place as the day before.
I just want to know if the calls after my contact with the bank, from different numbers that are not identified to the bank are a normal way of business for this bank, or if I have possibly been scammed since the entity reached on their requested returned calls sounded very different and were at even different numbers and required all my personal information again. I want to know if these calls were legitimately from Comenity Bank. I have no problem with my account with them or the help I received from them on my initial call. There was no "follow up survey", as I have had with other banks and such, associated with these subsequent calls asking me to return a call as soon as possible.
I have an issue with Comenity Bank too
