Calling ADT's customer service number was one of the most thorough experiences I've had when contacting a company. From the beginning, it was clear that I was dealing with a professional company, as I was immediately greeted and asked what the reason was for my call.
I explained that I was in the market for a new security system because I would soon be buying my first house with my wife and would want to make sure it's as secure as possible. The representative immediately said that he understood, and he would connect me with one of the sales representatives, as this wasn't his main area of expertise.
After a brief hold, the original employee came back on the line, accompanied by a sales specialist. The original employee said that he was turning things over to the sales expert and would go from there. The new representative asked me how he could help, and I repeated the information.
Unlike with some other companies, this one was clearly willing to listen to me and react to whatever information I gave. He wasn't pushy in trying to get me to make a decision right away, and he wasn't selling right off the bat either. He simply asked me where I was in my process and listened for the details.
I told him that I was just getting my search started and my wife wanted to plan out having a hypothetical house protected and what that might cost me. The representative said that he couldn't provide a concrete number because every type of home was different.
What he could do was explain what different levels of ADT home security would actually protect once I had them in place. For example, I would have two options when it came to physically protecting the windows. I could either set up a notification at the first sign of motion, or I could set the alarms to go off at the sign of broken glass.
Other protection included covering both the front door and rear door, as well as a side entrance. In each case, the representative told me that I'd be able to decide what levels of comfort would necessary for me to feel like my house was protected, and the price would reflect that when finished.
After seven minutes of information, I felt like I had plenty and moved to end the call. The representative gave me his personal information so that I could e-mail him when I was ready to make a decision. He said he looked forward to connecting and offered congratulations on buying to a house and preparing to purchase security for it, and he thanked me again for the call.
Overall, I feel like everything was thorough and professional. There were no inappropriate questions or anything that slowed down our interactions. I was able to get information quickly with minimal effort, and each question got a full and complete explanation.
Based off the responses and interactions, I would absolutely use this number to contact ADT for customer help.
